TWICE recently concluded their 1 year and 3 month world tour. When asked how they felt after completing the tour, leader Jihyo shared: “It’s amazing to have performed in such large spaces, but after doing it for a year and a half, I feel a mix of emotions. It’s liberating, but there’s also a sense of emptiness since we no longer travel abroad.”
IU then asked“Does anyone remember the first time we met?” Nayeon responded enthusiastically, “I absolutely remember!” He recalled TWICE’s first year-end awards ceremony after their debut, saying: “I was in the makeup room when I saw IU sunbaenim washing her hands. She wore an off-the-shoulder purple velvet dress—I still remember the details because I couldn’t forget how surreal it was to meet her.
Nayeon explained“I thought to myself, ‘If I debut, I will finally meet IU sunbaenim.’ When I saw her that day, it was unforgettable.”
IU also recalled the moment Nayeon gave her the sunflower. “I was on my way to receive an award at the Gaon Music Awards when Nayeon handed me a sunflower as if it had been perfectly prepared. I thought giving flowers to the award recipient was part of the routine,” UI laughed. Nayeon mused, “Looking back, I think I was really brave back then,” and other TWICE members agreed, saying: “It was really brave of her, especially considering how shy she is.”
IU expressed her gratitude, saying“I was so touched that I kept the flower Nayeon gave me for months. I also remember how TWICE always cheered enthusiastically whenever I won an award, and even helped me when I got lost backstage, guiding me with “This way.” He also thanked TWICE for attending his concert as guest artists.
