In May 2023, actor Kim Woo-bin made a heartfelt appearance in episode 193 of “You Quiz on The Block,” where he talked about his personal journey fighting cancer.
Known for his roles in hit dramas such as “Uncontrollably Fond,” Kim Woo-bin has emerged as a symbol of resilience following his diagnosis. During his appearance he revealed that, in addition to keeping a gratitude diary, he had also adopted the practice of prayer.
Kim Woo-bin shared, “I have received so many prayers.” He continued, “Just because my face became famous, a lot of people felt sympathy for me and that energy was transmitted so deeply. I truly believe it helped me recover faster.
He went on to explain that his decision to pray was born out of a desire to give back, to ensure that the support he had received could be passed on to others, “With the hope that the support and prayers I have received will reach others, I have been praying for about four years.”
Kim Woo-bin said, “For those currently battling the disease, I cannot fully understand how painful and terrifying it must be, but I can relate to a certain extent because I have experienced it myself. These things don’t happen because we did something wrong or lived badly; it’s just that we were unlucky. I hope you won’t spend your time in remorse or guilt. Please think of yourself and the loved ones around you and be strong.
With a heart full of gratitude for the prayers and support he received during his battle, Kim Woo-bin expressed his sincere wish that others could experience similar miracles, “I will always hold on to the support and prayers I have received, and I will pray sincerely today for more miracles to happen in many homes.”
