In a recent episode of the YouTube web show, “Hobo Uncle Soogeun,” Kwon Eunbi joined the comedian to eat at Daehan Kukjang restaurant in Apgujeong.

During the meal, MC Lee recounted the idol’s experiences in his previous girl groups, Ye-A and IZ*ONE, before debuting as a soloist.

“There must have been a lot of difficult moments after debut. What was the most difficult moment?” Soogeun asked.

In 2014, Eunbi initially debuted as a member of Ye-A under the stage name Kazoo. Unfortunately, the team disbanded after two years when her label, Shinhoo Entertainment, also closed its doors in 2016. This forced her to become a trainee again.

“I debuted when I was 20 but it didn’t work out. After that debut, I spent four years as an apprentice, those four years were the hardest,” Eunbi said.

The host delved into her experience and asked the “Underwater” singer if she also considered doing other things besides becoming an idol.

“I didn’t go to college until I was 24. When I turned 25, I felt like I couldn’t debut anymore because I was too old compared to the other trainees. I thought, ‘What am I going to do at 25?’ and I decided to go to university,” he added.

The “Glitch” singer went on to say that she took the entrance exam and was accepted into the Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts. At the time, he decided to continue his studies and earn money until an offer gave his life a different direction.

“But then, during freshman orientation, the company mentioned (‘Produce 48’). So I did that show at 24 and debuted that year.”

In 2018, Kwon Eunbi debuted again as the leader of IZ*ONE and reigned over the music scene for about three years until their disbandment in 2021. After that, he followed a solitary path and established his name as a soloist. She also earned the title “Waterbomb Queen” for her notable performances at the annual Waterbomb Festival.
