BTS’s Jin, known for his consumer eating habits and mukbang vlogs, has taken his talents to the food and beverage industry.
He collaborated with celebrity chef Baek Jong Won, CEO of The Born Korea, a restaurant franchise, becoming the first BTS member to open an independent business.
The two have teamed up to co-invest in a new agricultural company called Yesan Doga to launch an upcoming spirit, “IJIN,” as reported by News1.
The traditional liqueur will incorporate notes reminiscent of Won’s hometown of Yesan in southern Chungcheong province.
In addition to its distilled spirits offerings, the brand plans to sell ready-to-drink fruity options, including watermelon, apple and plum varieties.
The duo previously promoted traditional Korean liquors in an episode of BangtanTV, hosted on the group’s YouTube channel.
They also enlisted the help of master Park Rok Dam, considered the “godfather” of traditional Korean liquors. Dam will act as a consultant to develop the brand identity and elevate product quality.
While fans are undoubtedly in good spirits about Jin’s new business ventures, his label, Big Hit, remains silent on the matter.
“We ask for your understanding that we cannot confirm this matter,” a Big Hit Music representative said Maeil Business Star today.
Jin, who kicked off his solo career with his debut album “Happy,” has kept fans busy on the music front with appearances on shows like Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallona show he had already witnessed with his bandmates.
