“Winter Ahead,” the collaborative track between BTS V and Park Hyo Shin, cut through the noise, taking the No. 1 spot as Billboard’s best-selling song this week.
The magazine announced the result on December 10, in its digital song sales chart.
The single also debuted at number 99 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, the pinnacle of the most popular songs in the United States.
The result marks Park Hyo Shin’s debut on the Hot 100.
“Winter Ahead” is V’s fifth solo entry on the chart, which includes “Love Me Again,” which peaked at #96, “Christmas Tree” (#79), “FRI(END)S” (#65) and “Slow Dance” (#51).
Apart from that, the song also peaked at number 14 on the Global Excl chart. US rankings and finished 33rd on the Global 200 this week.
With the latest release, V also re-entered Billboard’s Artist 100 at number 88, marking his 11th week overall as a solo artist.
The song, released on November 29, is part of V’s Christmas album, featuring Bing Crosby, a jazz musician V has long admired.
“I am so grateful to have had the chance to be featured on a song with my favorite jazz artist of all time, Bing Crosby,” V said in a statement following the album’s announcement.
“I grew up listening to his song ‘It’s Been a Long, Long Time’ countless times a day, and I feel incredibly lucky and honored to have sung along to ‘White Christmas’ with the voice of someone I consider an idol.”
