K-Dramas are often stereotyped as “wholesome” and “tame” due to the presence of “fish kisses” and “holding hands” in episode 8 compared to Western TV shows having sex scenes in episode 1. However , a new K-Drama is proving this stereotype wrong by shocking viewers with more than one sex scene.
Netflix recently released his new Korean melodrama series, The Trunkbased on the novel of the same name by Kim Ryeo Ryeong. Written by Eun Young Park and directed by Kim Kyu Taeis the protagonist Seo Hyun Jin, Gong Yoo, Jung Yun Ha, AND Jung Yun Ha.
Noh In-Ji (Seo Hyun-Jin) works for contract wedding supplier NM. The company provides its customers with a spouse for a 1-year fixed-term contractual marriage. Noh In-Ji has concluded her fourth marriage contract. Meet Han Jeong-Won (Gong Yoo) for his fifth marriage contract. Han Jeong-Won works as a music producer. His life is filled with anxiety and loneliness due to the pain of his past. He still misses his ex-wife Seo-Yeon very much, who applied for the spouse who provides him with the NM company. Han Jeong-Won meets Noh In-Ji from New Mexico and begins his second marriage with her. They get to know each other and get used to each other over time. One day, a mysterious trunk is recovered from a lake. This leads them into a whirlwind of secrets behind the NM company.

In episode 1, Seo Yeon and her new husband (by contract) are shown having sex in their kitchen while Jeong Won tries to call her. The scene became much more explicit than viewers expected.
Still, it was bland compared to the couple’s scenes in episode 2. In one clip, she briefly watched him shower but refused his request to touch her.

In another scene, we joined the couple in their bedroom, where things got very spicy as nothing was left to the imagination as actress Jung Yun Ha was left topless.
Jeong Won and In Ji also shared an intimate scene later in episode 4 where they make love. While they were apparently naked in bed together, actor Gong Yoo covered Seo Hyun Jin so that his body was not visible.
Overall, many viewers were impressed by the gritty and realistic nature of the K-Drama.
