The agency explained that their intention to provide branding rights directly to members rather than One Hundred was driven by a desire to prioritize artists and their fans, allowing for a smooth continuation of activity. IST also strongly denied allegations that they charged excessive fees or applied unreasonable conditions.

Here is the company’s full statement:

“HI,

This is IST Entertainment.

We would like to resolve recent misunderstandings and misinformation regarding THE BOYZ’s trademark rights.

Contrary to what has been reported, we have decided to grant all 11 members of THE BOYZ all rights to use the brand free of charge. This decision was communicated to members and we intended to allow them to use the brand for any agreed activity, including unit or solo projects.

Additionally, for a member with approximately six months left on their exclusive contract, we agreed to terminate the contract early to support their new trip and this decision was also communicated to the member.

Our intention to provide branding rights directly to the members rather than to their new agency was based on our commitment to the continued success of THE BOYZ and an ongoing connection with their fans.

Reports that we charged excessive fees for brands or made unreasonable demands on the new agency are completely false. We remained open to discussions and put forward standard proposals to ensure a smooth handover.

Even though our time with THE BOYZ is coming to an end, we will do everything in our power to support their future endeavors and wish them every success. Thank you.”
