They feel they understand why they made the change.
Mnet is getting backlash from ZEROBASEON fan for removing a member Ricky from a video thumbnail.
The video in question is the group’s performance of “Good So Bad”. MAMA Awards 2024. The photo originally included Ricky on the left…
…but Ricky was later deleted from the photo, simply leaving it Yujin in the center.
Turns out this wasn’t the first time Mnet removed members from the thumbnail.
What the Sinophobic Network did:
1. Moved Hao’s thumbnail from the most viewed clip (662,000 views) to the least viewed clip (and Ricky’s thumbnail was removed due to the change).
2. Cut out Ricky from another miniature like what?watch out, this happens to the same people over and over, fuck snakes https://t.co/Cmfzw60gLB pic.twitter.com/QdQcK5amyu

However, Korean netizens were divided on the issue.
- “I don’t understand why such a talented guy like him gets such treatment.”
- “It doesn’t make sense that they canceled it. Or they shouldn’t have used that thumbnail in the first place. The comments are just ridiculous. How would you feel if your prejudices were removed in this way? Even if the thumbnail was recovered, I’m still angry that he’s being treated like this.”
- “It doesn’t make sense that they canceled it in the first place. Why do they say his deleted photo is better when fans are angry? The comments are just plain rude. Imagine if your biases were treated this way.
- “The photo below looks better, but I understand why fans are upset. If they wanted to delete it, they would have had to delete everyone in the background.”
- “I’m a fan of Ricky and I think they canceled him for the miniature. But I’m frustrated because if they wanted to remove it, they should have done so before posting it. It just annoys me that they didn’t think about it before posting.
- “If they wanted to eliminate it, they would have had to eliminate both sides.”
- “I guess they thought it was best to delete it because his pose was a little awkward, making his face look longer.”
- “This is the first time I’ve seen them delete someone from the thumbnail. They should have just used a different photo in the first place.
- “Maybe they deleted it because it made the photo a little distracting? I don’t think they did it with bad intentions?”
- “I don’t think it came out bad…and if they were going to write it off to focus on the center, they would have had to cut both sides.”
- “The second photo looks a little better as a thumbnail though.”
