Why ARMYs Think BTS’ V May Have a Kissing Scene in the ‘Winter Ahead’ Music Video

They think it’s inspired by Greek mythology.

He announced it recently BTS‘S V will release a new Christmas song, “Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN).”

When a new preview was released, ARMYs realized that V had filmed the MV about two years ago, before his enlistment. He previously shared spoilers via his Instagram account.

ARMYs are also speculating on the MV. Many believe that the story is inspired by Pygmalion, king of Cyprus, a character from Greek mythology. Pygmalion created a sculpture of a woman and fell in love with it. He desired a bride in his likeness. One day, she kissed the stature, and she became a true woman, as Aphrodite, the goddess of love, granted her wish.

Taehyung plays the role of Pygmalion in Winter Ahead. In Greek mythology, when Pygmalion saw the Propoetids of Cyprus practicing prostitution, he began to “detest the immeasurable defects that nature has given to women”. He decided to remain celibate and take up sculpture. He made a sculpture of a woman he found so perfect that he fell in love with her. Pygmalion kisses and caresses the sculpture, brings her various gifts and creates a sumptuous bed for her. In time the day of Aphrodite’s feast arrived, and Pygmalion made offerings at Aphrodite’s altar. There, too afraid to admit his desire, he quietly longed for a bride who was “the living likeness of my ivory girl.” When he returned home, he kissed his ivory statue and found that his lips were warm. She kissed it again and found that the ivory had lost its hardness. Aphrodite had granted Pygmalion’s wish.
Pygmalion married the ivory sculpture, which transformed into a woman under the blessing of Aphrodite. In Ovid’s story they had a daughter, Paphos, from which the city’s name derives.

In the MV teaser, V appeared to be sculpting a statue. There was also a clip of a woman. So, ARMYs believe that the MV will recreate the story, and there will be a kiss scene.

ARMYs were also reminded of the “Blood Sweat & Tears” MV. Jin famously kissed a statue. Even though we didn’t see the statue become human, it broke like a statue.
