On November 22, “Incident Manager” broadcast news that a member of a multinational girl group, which debuted in September, was sexually harassed by the co-CEO and founder of her agency. The broadcast featured MADEIN’s stage performance on M Countdown.
MADEIN originally debuted under the name LimeLight with a three-member lineup of MiU, Suhye and Gaeun. The group announced the rearrangement in 2024 under the new name with four new members, adding former Kep1er members Mashiro and Kang Yeseo and Produce 101 Japan The Girls contestants Serina Saito and Nagomi Abe.
On November 11, Gaeun announced a hiatus due to health problems. On the same day, 143 Entertainment shared on its official SNS that medical professionals had advised Gaeun to rest and recover. MADEIN has continued as a six-member group ever since.
After his announcement, Gaeun deleted all of his Instagram posts and unfollowed the CEO and executive producer on the platform.
Meanwhile, past comments from MiU expressing dissatisfaction with the CEO have resurfaced. In an October 2022 YouTube video titled “Chuseok Special ‘Songmakase’ Mukbang & Idol Gossiping About Their Agency (Feat. iKON Yunhyeong & LIMELIGHT)”, MiU, Suhye, and Gaeun appeared as guests.
During the episode, while enjoying the food prepared by Yunhyeong, she asked MiU if there were any suggestions for improvement, humorously noting that her long commute might inspire ideas. MiU replied, “I wish there were fewer confessions.”
Surprised, Yunhyeong asked: “Confessions? What kind of confessions?” MiU explained: “The CEO often says things like, “MiU-chan, you know I adore you,” but hearing that every day is too much. I would prefer it to be reduced to once a year.”
Gaeun jokingly responded, “Isn’t that too much of a cut?” Yunhyeong then suggested, “Why not tell the CEO, ‘Please only express your love once a year’” to which MiU has firmly adhered, “An annual promise ‘daisuki’.”
