A supporting actor from “Vincenzo” shared a touching story of how Song Joong-ki showed great consideration for the cast and crew.
The story, originally published in September but recently gaining attention, tells of how, during a cold shoot, the supporting actor had difficulty handling a hot ceramic plate containing steamed chicken. When Song Joong-ki noticed the actor’s difficulty, he immediately asked him to put down the plate, “Why are you apologizing? Whoever made you hold the hot plate should apologize.
He then ordered the staff to intervene to resolve the problem.
Later, when the actor accidentally appeared on camera holding a towel to protect his hands, Song Joong-ki reassured them, “All right. The towel design is cute, so continue as is. Don’t worry.” The actor expressed admiration for Song Joong-ki, “I couldn’t stop praising him everywhere I went after that.”
The supporting actor also recalled another incident during the filming of “Vincenzo,” in which Song Joong Ki, preparing for a scene in which he would throw popcorn at the audience, kindly apologized in advance to the extras, saying: “I might accidentally hit you with popcorn and you might not like it, but I’m really sorry in advance. Thank you.”
The actor was impressed by Song Joong-ki’s thoughtfulness, noting that it was rare for celebrities to ask for consent in such situations.
Additionally, the supporting actor shared his admiration for fellow cast member Ok Taec-yeon, who endured multiple takes in a difficult scene involving pig’s blood without losing his cool. The actor still remembers the moment when Ok Taec-yeon received a standing ovation from over 100 extras for his dedication.
Song Joong-ki married British actress Katie Louise Saunders in January last year and they welcomed their first child in June 2023 in Rome.
In November 2024, Song Joong-ki announced that he had become a father for the second time. He shared his joy with fans, “Now I’m in Rome. It’s only been a little over a year since I met my first baby here and I’m so grateful to have met another beautiful baby.
