On November 20, Taeyeon appeared as a guest alongside SHINee’s Key on the YouTube channel “Naraesik”.
Known for her “homebody” lifestyle, Taeyeon said, “I don’t do anything at home. My life is really boring. I wake up at 7 and literally rest. I order food delivery, drink coffee and look outside.
Host Park Na-rae jokingly commented: “It looks like you’re in a retirement home.” to which Taeyeon replied, “Sometimes I wonder if I lived such a busy life in my twenties only to end up like this.” However, she clarified that her “housewife” image is often misunderstood. “People think, ‘She’s probably just at home, she doesn’t like to drink,’ so they don’t invite me to these things. But I actually love people. I miss people. I’m looking for them” he said.
Taeyeon revealed that even when she travels abroad for shows, she mostly stays in her hotel room. He confessed “I didn’t meet anyone who could get me out of that situation. Even the staff around me don’t try. I am a person who is often misunderstood.
Park Na-rae then asked both guests, “They say, ‘Once an idol, always an idol.’ Does this mean you have to continue living like an idol?” Taeyeon admitted, “It’s something I’ve been thinking about lately. I’m starting to get confused between Taeyeon being the person and Taeyeon being the idol. I’m in my mid-thirties now and people around me are getting married and having kids. Isn’t that that time of life?”
Key shared his perspective: “I think we have entered a new era. The important thing is not to disappoint the people who support us. As long as we focus on not showing the negative side, we’re fine.”
Taeyeon agreed, adding, “We have received so much love from our fans and I feel like it’s a kind of loyalty. I think maintaining that loyalty can help sustain long-term relationships with fans.”
For dessert, the trio chose frozen yogurt. Taeyeon happily shared, “I once ordered three servings and ate it all by itself instead of a meal. I thought it wouldn’t make me gain weight, but instead I gained three kilograms! I have since stopped eating it, but today I will indulge” he said with a laugh.
