On September 15, Lola shared a post on Instagram containing a letter announcing her departure to fans. She apologized for the sudden news but promised that she would return under her real name, Choi Yu Jeong, thanking fans for their support.

“Hi, I’m PIXY Lola.

It’s been a while since I last greeted you and shared news. First of all, I want to express my deep gratitude to the fans who believed in me and continued to support me warmly. I also want to apologize to the fans who have been waiting for me for the unfortunate news I’m about to share. I understand that many of you have been curious due to my long silence, and I am deeply sorry if the news I’m about to share leaves you disappointed. My heart is heavy. As of September 11, 2024, my contract with Allart has ended. I have learned and grown so much during my debut and performance as PIXY’s Lola. I am grateful for the unforgettable memories created through PIXY and WINXY and the experiences I would never have encountered otherwise. I will treasure all the precious moments shared with the members, including the times we cried and laughed together. Although my activities as PIXY Lola have come to an end, I will do my best to repay everyone’s love and support as Choi Yujeong. I will work hard to show you a better side of myself soon. To all the WINXY, you are everything to me, and I mean it sincerely. I love you all so much and thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thank you for reading my message until the end!”

While the departure of a member from a group is not a sure sign of dissolution, in this case many fear that this is the direction the group is heading.

PIXY originally debuted as a six-member group in February 2021 with the digital single “Wings”. By August 2022, the group had been reduced to four members following the health-related departures of She AND Satbyeol.

After adding a new member the following month, the group embarked on tours of Europe and America.

In June 2024, many were surprised after members Day-jeongnow known as U_Chaeannounced his departure from the group on Instagram.

With Yu Jeong’s departure from the group, PIXY’s lineup now consists of three members. And while they could certainly add new members, many believe the group is going through a “silent disbandment” as it’s been almost a year since their last comeback.

Although saddened by the group’s current situation, many expressed words of support for the members’ future endeavors.
