During the emotional acceptance speech, the group shared, “We never imagined that we would be giving a Daesang speech at the Golden Disc. Our dream was simply to win a Bonsang (main prize), so this is overwhelming.” They also expressed their sincere gratitude to their fans, known as STAY, saying: “The last eight years have been filled with precious memories. We want to continue walking this journey together.”
G-Dragon earned Digital Song of the Year Daesang for his track “Home sweet home.” Although absent from the ceremony, he shared a video message: “It’s an honor to receive my first Digital Daesang Award of the Year. Thank you to all the VIPs and fans. I hope to come back with BIGBANG this year.”
Jennie has made history as the first recipient of the new Daesang Artist of the Year award, recognizing exceptional global influence. He said, “Receiving such an important award in the same year that I celebrate my 10th anniversary of debut is deeply meaningful. I feel one step closer to my dreams.” Jennie also took home three other awards, including a Digital Bonsang, a Global Impact Award, and a Bonsang with BLACKPINK, for a total of four trophies for the night.
Debutants CORTIS and ALLDAY Project won the New Artist Award, marking a strong debut in the competitive K-pop scene. Cortiz thanked HYBE’s Bang Si-hyuk and their team, while ALLDAY Project thanked Teddy and their fans.
Despite the glamour, the nearly seven-hour ceremony tested the endurance of both participants and performers. However, the scale and spectacle, with stages from IVE, ENHYPEN, BOYNEXTDOOR and more, made it a night to remember.
