Many idols attended the national convention to talk about the K-pop industry. This time the focus is on NewJeans Hanni’s participation to potentially talk about workplace bullying and go against HYBE.
On September 30, the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee convened NewJeans Hanni ahead of the state audit on October 25 to discuss the topic: bullying and harassment in the workplace.
The committee held a plenary session the same day and approved 35 witnesses and references ahead of their state verification.
If Hanni participates, she will most likely be asked to speak further about the harsh treatment she received from a HYBE staff during the live broadcast revealed by the idol last month.

There is great expectation whether he will participate or not, as this means going against his parent company HYBE and label ADOR. If you do not attend, you will have to submit a written explanation with a justifiable reason.
Failure to do so will result in fines or imprisonment.
Before Hanni, three idols were also summoned by the National Assembly, including former Teen Top CAP (Bang Minsoo), former Brave Girls Noh Hyeran (Jainros), and former Bob Girls Heo Yu Jeong.
The topic explored was “The work and human rights of children and youth hidden behind the success of K-Pop.” Bang Minsoo hoped for a “monthly salary system” for idols, while Hyeran also talked about self-sufficiency or autonomy for idols.
Yu Jeong, on the other hand, elaborated on the right of idols and trainees to have systematic education that protects their human rights.
