On the October 23 episode of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” legendary idol group 2NE1 reunited as a full group for the first time in 10 years, sharing stories they’ve never told before.
Gong Minzy recalled her internship days before the formation of 2NE1, “I saw Sandara Park for the first time when I was in sixth grade. She was so little I thought we were the same age.
Sandara Park added, “CL was a teenager at the time, but his charisma was impressive. I was a little intimidated.” He continued, “As for Park Bom, she was as cheerful then as she is now. I was new at the time, but she came over and talked to me. It still has the same vibe.
Park Bom admitted, “Sandara Park was already a big star in the Philippines. Since she was a celebrity, I was a little nervous when I met her.” When the hosts commented that each member was already remarkable in their own right, CL laughed and said: “We were all just elementary school students.”
2NE1 also talked about their challenging internship days. Members shared, “We worked hard to change the water in the dispenser, clean the mirrors ourselves and even clean the bathrooms.”
CL specifically mentioned their rigorous diet management during the internship period, “We had to write down everything we ate in a logbook. We ordered food from a local Korean restaurant and some things were prohibited. Only Dara Unnie was allowed to eat dakbokkeumtang, while the rest of us were limited to the soft, spicy tofu stew.
Gong Minzy jokingly added: “We would secretly write Dara Unnie’s name in the logbook and sneak into the tonkatsu,” causing laughter on set.
