On the October 23 episode of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” 2NE1 appeared as a full group for the first time in 10 years and talked about their recent reunion and changes in their relationship.
CL discussed the challenges of putting the group back together after its dissolution. “Just a few months ago we were still a loose group. It’s hard enough for friends to meet, let alone all four of them. We promised ourselves we would have lunch together at least once a year, usually around Minzy’s birthday. That’s why I could easily invite them to Coachella. Since it’s our 15th anniversary, we thought, why not do something special to celebrate?” CL explained.
Sandara Park added, “Our leader’s initiative was really important. CL brought us together and organized everything, even the rehearsals in a gym set up just like a concert stage. We practiced so much that we could perform even when we woke up.
The members reminisced about their days as trainees, with Sandara Park recalling CL’s impressive charisma as a teenager and Bom’s cheerful personality. Born admitted that she was intimidated by Dara’s fame in the Philippines. They also shared how they handled household chores like changing water bottles and cleaning, with CL mentioning their strict diet.
Reflecting on their meteoric rise after debuting in 2009, the members admitted they were too busy at the time to fully realize the extent of their popularity. CL said: “We were constantly trying new things, so we didn’t have time to look back or take it all in.”
Sandara Park said the hardest part of their breakup was separating from her fellow members. concluded CL “I never thought we wouldn’t get together, but I knew we all had to be in a good position for that to happen. I’m grateful we all stuck it out.
