Blackjacks were surprised by the announcement of 2NE1’s upcoming “15th Anniversary BEST LP”, but others requested brand new songs from “Big 4” agency YG Entertainment.

On December 16, YG announced the contents of the legendary K-pop girl group’s LP containing the best releases of their career.

The agency wrote: “To celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut, 2NE1’s first best LP containing their unique originality will be released.”

Contents will include a vinyl record, several round cover posters, lyric posters, a metal credit board and selfie photo cards. As much as the content was intended to excite Blackjack, some fans decided to vent their demand for new music.

Blackjacks flocked to the announcement, which made them question the release of new songs for the girl group.

“Do you at least include new songs if you don’t give us new songs?” one fan noted.

Another asked, “We know they’re the BEST, but we’re tired. New music!”

“2NE1’s first Korean album since 2014,” a fan added. “Even if it is the BEST album in previous years, we can show (to) YG that we want new music from girls by selling it.”

Meanwhile, the “I AM THE BEST” hitmakers are also in talks to perform at SBS Gayo Daejeon on December 25. On 4 December, a representative from SBS confirmed that the group’s participation was “currently under discussion”.
