All but two passengers and crew members on board Jeju Air Flight 2216 have been confirmed dead.
On the morning of December 29, Jeju Air Flight 2216 en route from Bangkok, Thailand to Muan, South Korea, crashed after landing on its belly and veering off the runway.
Authorities confirmed there had been a bird strike warning issued by the control tower, followed by a Mayday declaration by the pilot. The plane crashed a few minutes later.

Two survivors were found in the rear of the plane during the initial stages of the rescue. However, shortly thereafter, authorities announced that everyone else on board was presumed dead as a result of the crash.
Around 9pm KST the same day, rescue authorities officially confirmed that 179 of the 181 passengers on board the flight died as a result of the crash.
